Dannevirke New Zealand
Dannevirke Welcomes You, an hour inland from the North Island’s eastern coast, lies mid-way between Napier and Wellington, in the Tararua district. We are only 45 minutes east from the city of Palmerston North, through the scenic Manawatu Gorge or over the Saddle Road through the spectacular Te Apiti Wind Turbine Farm. For people from outside the area who haven’t been here, it has more to offer than one would expect from a small, rural service town.
Little more than two hours drive to or from the country’s capital city, there is plenty for visitors and residents to do here.Dannevirke’s population at the last Census, 2006, was 5510.
While many of the town’s businesses are based to service its surrounding the rural community, mainly sheep and dairy farms, Dannevirke also offers up-market shopping and eateries to visitors and residents.Take a step back in time click here
